Packagers? reborn as 24/7 conduits for best products and services
Packagers were originally there to offer access to lenders and products that were not available any other way.
They offered a knowledge base to help brokers provide well researched choices to their clients, not only
mortgages but to other ’best of breed’ services.
Well guess what? Fast forward to today and although the physical task of collecting and collating paperwork –
“packaging” some would say is less important, those companies that weathered the storm are providing a vital in
depth service, but delivered in a more cost efficient and accessible way which benefits broker and product
provider to suit the changed marketplace. Judging by the response we are having from brokers and providers
(present and future), they appreciate what a specialist distribution company can offer, particularly when it
is properly funded, or part of an organisation prepared to invest in the future with infrastructure and
technology.
The main difference between old school packagers and today’s specialist distribution firms like SMS, is the
emphasis we place on technology as the principal conduit by which services and products can be accessed and
monitored through to completion. With lenders beginning to look again at effective distribution, third party
specialists, with wide intermediary coverage and technologically tuned in to both lender and broker,
represent great value for both lender and introducer, saving cost on both resource and infrastructure.
